July 17 – Planning Commission Public Hearing – 319 Brown Ave

The City of Negaunee’s Planning Commission will be holding a Public Hearing in accordance with Section 1280, Special Land Use, to consider a short term rental at 319 Brown Ave. Negaunee, MI. on Tuesday July 17, 2018 @ 5:30 p.m. in the Negaunee Senior Center, 410 Jackson St. (Tobin St. Entrance).  Details can be viewed HERE.  Opportunity for public comment will be provided at the meeting. June 4th – Public Input Meeting for 2019 Capital Improvements Plan

The City of Negaunee, in coordination with the Central U.P. Planning and Development Region (CUPPAD) will host an informational session and opportunity for public input on the development of the City’s 2019 Capital Improvements Plan on Monday, June 4, 2018.

The public input session will begin at 6:00 PM at the Negaunee Senior Center located at the corner of Jackson and Tobin Streets, use the Tobin Street entrance. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) is a budgetary tool that identifies and coordinates city-owned capital projects up to six years in the future, through 2024. Capital projects such as road, sewer, water, sidewalks, and facilities over $10,000, or infrastructure to support City-run facilities and programs greater than $3,000 will be included in the plan. The final product of the CIP process will be a plan document that will provide intelligence on future needs and assist City Council members in deliberations around the annual city budget.

City residents and business owners will have an opportunity to learn about the CIP process and provide input on the prioritization of projects and how projects may be included in future annual updates to the plan. Capital Improvements Plan Flyer

Senior Citizen Spring Cleanup

The City of Negaunee will have a Spring Cleanup for Senior Citizen’s Only on Wednesday June 7th, Thursday June 8th and Friday June 9th for compostable items and large metal items.  Senior Citizen’s can call Great American Disposal at 906-221-2725.  To be on the schedule for pickup you must call on May 31st , June 1st  or June 4th.  GAD will not be responsible for clearing out homes.  The same parameters as the monthly drop off will be adhered to.

 

The City of Negaunee provides two monthly drop off’s per month at the end of Lincoln Street.  The second Thursday from Noon to 6 pm and the Last Saturday from 8 am to noon for all citizen’s of Negaunee.

The City of Negaunee is taking Bids on the above (2) zero turn lawn mowers.

Interested parties may send or hand deliver a Sealed Bid for the Purchase of Husqvarna zero turn lawn mowers to Negaunee City Hall, PO Box 70, 319 West Case St. Negaunee, Mi. 49866. The Sealed Bid must be marked “Lawn Mowers”. Bids must be received by 10:00 A.M. on 13 June, 2018 at which time Bids will be opened and read out loud.

The lawn mowers must be picked up by July 1, 2018

CLOSED – Advertisement for bids – Birch Street Watermain

Sealed bids are solicited for the: Construction of BIRCH STREET WATERMAIN, City of Negaunee, Marquette County, Michigan. The project includes approximately 0.10 miles watermain replacement and road reconstruction on Birch Street from Hungerford Ave to Baldwin Ave. The project will include removal of 4” watermain, placing new 8” watermain, partial reconstruction, sidewalk and ADA ramp replacement, curb replacement, subbase, gravel base, curb, HMA paving, permanent pavement markings, slope restoration, and traffic control.

Bids will be received by the City of Negaunee and addressed to: Negaunee City Clerk, City of Negaunee, P.O. Box 70, 319 W. Case Street, Negaunee, MI 49866, until 1:00 p.m. ET,May 24, 2018, at which time these sealed Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the City of Negaunee Office. Contractors please clearly mark “BID ENCLOSED: Birch Street Watermain” on the outside envelope of sealed bid.

The Contract Documents may be examined at the office of U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc. at 424 South Pine Street, Ishpeming, Michigan 49849. Direct any questions to Mark Daavettila at the UPEA Ishpeming office. All bidders shall contact U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc. to be added to the Bidders List for pending addenda and supplemental information if necessary.
Hard copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from the Ishpeming office of U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc., 424 South Pine Street, Ishpeming, MI 49849, (906) 485-1011, it will be $25 for each copy.

No Bid shall be received unless accompanied by a certified check or satisfactory Bid Bond payable to the Owner in an amount no less than five percent (5%) of the maximum bid as a guarantee, that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute and file the Contract, Performance and Payment Bonds, and Insurance Certification, as required by the Contract Documents within fifteen (15) days after the Notice of Award and may not be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after bid deadline.

The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
